Is a mold remediation license required in Pennsylvania?
No, and it surprises most people. The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirms the state has no mold regulations and no license for mold work, so the questions above matter more here than they would somewhere with a state register.
What certification do you need to remove mold?
None by law, which is why certification is worth asking about. The one that counts is the IICRC, whose S520 standard sets out how mold work should be done, including removing growth rather than spraying over it.
